Artist's Comments

My submission to the final round of the Map Contest, on AH.com. I´ve tried some new effects here, specially the coast line, also reverting the contrast of land and sea to create some negative space and focus. Hope you like it :)

??? WTH is that?! You are embarrasing at history. It couldn't be alternate map of Europe it is real fantasy!
:iconmarcosceia:
You do realise the meaning of the term 'alternate history', right? This is not a work of factual history, and as such, diverges from it quite a bit. Don't worry ;)
:icondragonutopia:
LoL..is it 19th century or do i miscalculate the roman XIX..Where are the Turks?
:iconcutangus:
It's very good.
British Republic? Good!
I found more logic that the Capital of the Spanish Empire be Lisbon instead of Madrid, given the Spanish-portuguese union.

AAAHHH!!!! It's all backwards.
France a Kingdom & the "UK" a Republic :|
For me, it's actually quite mind boggling; it changes history on such an immense scale it's untrue!!!

This is awesome, but I'm wondering;
How did Sweden get the northern parts of Norway, but not Scania, from Denmark?

Did they get it in a peace treaty?

btw, Big Imperial Sweden = Very very good

Epic map!

Thanks sir! Well, to be honest, it was on the pre-requisites from the Map Challenge :) The big Imperial Sweden, though, was not :D

Do you use Photoshop entirely to make these, or is there something else involved? Also, what is a 'Ceremonial Monarchy'?

If at first you don't succeed, try, try again; if you dont try again you will be hit in the face with a shovel.
98% of the teenage population does or has tried smoking pot. If you're one of the 2% who hasn't, copy & paste this in your signature.
:iconmarcosceia:
Everything Photoshop, from the vector to the effects. Ceremonial Monarchies would be kingdoms with a very strong Parlament(s), with only a figurehead king.
